Introduction

The moment a new plant is completed, maintenance of the plant and equipment begins.  Proper maintenance and inspection of all equipment and systems will ensure that the plant operates problem free.  Downtime in a sulphuric acid plant can be quite costly if it stops production of metals in a smelter complex or stops production of electric power in a sulphur burning plant with cogeneration.
