Introduction

The following sequence of pictures illustrates the erection of a tower shell.

Initial positioning of the tower shell in preparation for the lift.

Two cranes are used to lift the vessel off the ground.  The main crane is positioned at the top of the vessel while a second crane is used to lift the bottom

Vessel is lifted clear of the cradles the supported the vessel in the horizontal position.

Lifting of the vessel to the vertical position.

Once the vessel is in the vertical position the crane that was used to control the bottom of the vessel is removed.
