General The mining and metalurgical plant "Boleslaw" is located in the region around Olkusz which when considering the layers of precious ore was called in the old days "Silver City" and often in scientific publications it is known as the craddle of the Polish mining industry.
The history of the mine and metalurgical plant stretches back to the 12th century when the king Kazimierz the second set up the mining settlement in Old Olkusz.
In 1955 for the first time electrolytic zinc was obtained. In 1958 the Boleslaw Mining Plant and the Boleslaw Metalurgical Plant united under the common name of the Boleslaw Mine and Metalurgical Plant.
Between 1997 and 2000 a substantial investment of 20 million dollars enabled the plant to obtain the highest purity of zinc and very good production parameters. From that time on the company has excelled in the production and export of electrolytic zinc to the Polish market and the EU. At present our firm is a joint stock company.
