General The Company's principal activity is the manufacture of chemicals, specialising in ethylene-based products, cellulose fibre, raw materials used in making polyamide fibres and structural plastics, inorganic products as well as producing other chemicals for special uses. The Company operates in five business segments: Caprolactam, Inorganic Chemistry, Plastics (PVC), Energy and Water and Others. The Company produces its own energy and operates its own water treatment plants and waste disposal sites.

SPOLANA A.S. is among the major chemical companies in the Czech industry. Was established on May 1, 1992 transformation from a state enterprise with a registered capital of 4.329 billion CZK. Company headquarters are Neratovice, 25 km north of Prague on the Elbe River. Its area covers an area of 260 hectares. The company currently employs nearly 800 employees. Since the end of 2001 to November 2006 was part of Spolana holding group Unipetrol, which became part of May 2005 the Polish PKN Orlen. In November 2006, Unipetrol sold its stake in Polish company Zaklady Spolana Azotowe ANWIL SA (since January 15, 2010, the company has a trade name ANWIL Spólka akcyjna), which is also part of the PKN Orlen.  The company focuses mainly on exporting their products. In recent years, exported more than 80% of Spolana. Attempt by the company as much as possible to apply their products to the markets of the European Union at the lowest logistics cost.

News January 25, 2023 - Nuberg EPC declared that it was granted a 550 tpd Sulphuric acid plant project in Neratovice, Czech Republic, on an EPC-based contract.  The project is possessed by a leading chemical manufacturer, Spolana s.r.o, that is found on the Elbe riverbank in Neratovice, Czech Republic. The chemical manufacturer is among the largest chemical manufacturing firms in the Czech Republic.  The deal was finalised at the head office of  Spolana, which is based in Neratovice, with Mr. Sandip Kumar, Senior Manager, Business Development present there to represent Nuberg EPC in the Czech Republic along with Spolana's management team, including Mr. Miroslav Falta (Executive), Mr. Radek Brodil, (Project Business Manager), Mr. Luboš Burdek (Project Execution Manager), Mr. Jaroslav Hacko (Director of Investment DPT.), and Mr. Piotr Kearney (CEO), Mr. Pavel Malina (Head of Purchase Investment Dept.)  The project will be executed by Nuberg EPC on the basis of the latest Double Conversion Double Absorption (DCDA) technology.  It is anticipated that the plant will be operational three years, comprising stages one, two and three of the projects. The firm is volunteering for the project on an EPC-based contract involving technology.  The Sulphuric acid made by Czech Republic's 550 tpd Sulphuric acid plant project will be employed in applications based on petrochemical and fertiliser. It will also find application in the mining and processing certain minerals and ores for making batteries and etching surfaces.  Also, Sulphuric acid is utilised to produce caprolactam, which is further employed in nylon and perlon production, including the textile and clothing industry.  Upon the project's receival, Mr. A. K. Tyagi, MD, Nuberg EPC, stated that this agreement represents the competency of Nuberg in incorporating intelligence and knowledge on the basis of Engineering aspects.  It is a delight that Spolana chose their EPC services to carry out the project.  It was further stated by him that the service scope of Nuberg EPC comprises process design and technology incorporating development in product and technology – in-house and also with third-party licensors, basic engineering, process know-how and licensing, residual detailed engineering, procurement, front-end engineering design (FEED), operation and maintenance, construction management, project management, detailed engineering, EPC solutions, commissioning, heavy fabrication, and the plant's start-up.
