| General | In the
beginning PT. Mahkota Indonesia built unit I Sulfuric Acid factory on 23
February 1970 with 50 tonnes/day capacity. It is based on the consideration
of high Sulfuric Acid necessity in Indonesia although there was Petro Kimia
Gresik factory but the consumer needs unfulfilled. The increasing of
Indonesia inhabitant and industry especially Jakarta gave the impact of
Aluminium Sulfate (Alum) necessity resulting unit Aluminium Sulfate built
which starting to operate in 1971. In overcome arising necessity of Sulfuric
Acid, in 1976 unit II Sulfuric Acid was been built and operated in the same
year. This factory expansion emerges the initiative of how to exploit steam
energy resulted from unit I and unit II Sulfuric Acid factory, therefore
Sodium Silicate unit was been built in 1981. Next development continued in 1988 and the management represented Indonesia by PT. Lautan Luas Tbk. And Pt. Mingsindo Jaya with TIP International Company from Singapore. The rapid developing of technology and increasing consumer demand moved the management thought to develop the company by building unit III Sulfuric Acid and started to build in 1991 and produced in 1993 with 100 tones/day capacity. On the other side, unit I Sulfuric Acid had been reorganized and change the machines capacity reached 125 tones/day. It was renovated in 1995 and started to produce in July 1999. |
