| General | Safi complex, the first chemical industry site constructed by OCP Group, started up in 1965 to process the Gantour phosphate rock. It is composed of three units: Maroc Chimie, Maroc Phosphore I and Maroc Phosphore II. Brought into operation in 1981, the Maroc Phosphore II unit covers an area of 76 hectares. The sulphuric acid plant has 3 acid production lines using the Monsanto process, while the phosphoric acid plant has 3 acid production lines using the Nissan process. The unit is also equipped with a phosphate rock washing facility (FCB process), a fresh water treatment station, a sea water pumping station and 2 turbine generator units. |
