Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited is a part of The UB Group, a large and diversified Indian business house. The Group is one of the foremost multinational organizations based in the sub-continent with operations in many world markets. It has diverse interests - brewing, distilling, fertilizers, life sciences, engineering and information technology.

Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited (MCF), with a turnover of over Rs.1000 crore, is the only manufacturer of chemical fertilizers in the state of Karnataka. The factory is strategically located at Panambur, 9 kms north of Mangalore City, on the banks of the Gurpur River, in front of the New Mangalore Port. The plant is well connected, both by rail and road. The West Coast National Highway (NH-l7) from Kochi to Mumbai separates MCF from the New Mangalore Port.

News October 23, 2023 - Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited (MCFL) had to cease operations at it phosphatic plant in Mangaluru on Sunday due to a shortage of raw materials.  In a regulatory disclosure made on Sunday, MCFL announced that its phosphatic fertiliser plant was temporarily halted on October 22, 2023 due to a depletion on phosphoric acid raw material stock.  The company intends to provide an update once it resumes production at this facility.  MCFL, a subsidiary of Zuari Agro Chemicals Limited, which is part of the Adventz Group under the leadership of Chariman Saroj Kumar Poddar, stands as one of the prominent fertiliser companies in the country.
