General Jinlong Copper Co, Ltd, a Sino-Japan joint venture, which was approved by Ministry of China National Foreign Trade and Economic Bureau. Jinlong Copper Co., Ltd is located in the Chinese Ancient Famous Copper Capital - Tongling city, to its east is the Tongling city and the west the Changjiang River. It enjoys transportation convenient, with the trunk railway connecting with the Tong-Wu highway, and the direct sea lines can call all the near coastal cities, with the berth capacity of 5000 tons in its private port.
Jinlong was established in 1992 and started construction on July 1, 1993; then in November, 1995 Jinlong project was listed by the State Council as a key project of Eighth five-year Plan; On December 28,1996, the Flash Furnace was preheated, and the trial start-up with copper concentrates feeding was done on April 8,1997. On November 8,1997 it began to start normal production. Nanchang Non-ferrous Metallurgy Design Company was the designer of Jinlong Project, China No.15 Metallurgy Construction Company and the construction company of Tongling Non-ferrous Metal (Group) INC as the builder, and the project supervisor was Beijing Xincheng Supervisal Company. Jinlong Copper Co, Ltd was the first smelter in China that was designed and built only by domestic force.
The total investment of the project was about RMB2.25 billion, and with the registered capital eight million twenty thousand and three hundred RMB.
The annual output of high-grade cathode is 150,000 tons, and sulphuric acid was 500,000 tons, as well some by-products like gold and silver,etc.
