Background 1885: Stauffer Chemical Company founded by John Stauffer in San Francisco, CA.
1893: Electric Reduction Co. (ERCO), is founded by W.Gibbs in Buckingham,QC,Canada, then incorporated in 1897.
1902: Victor Chemical Works incorporated at the current Chicago Heights site.
1902: ERCO was acquired by Albright & Wilson
1959: Victor Chemical through merger becomes a part of Stauffer Chemical Company.
1985: Chesebrough-Ponds acquires Stauffer Chemical Company.
1985: Albright & Wilson acquired Mobil Chemicals US phosphate business
1987: Unilver P.L.C. acquires Cheseborough-Ponds and divests the Industrial Chemical Division to Rhone-Poulenc
1988: Albright & Wilson and Texasgulf formed A&W Company JV and constructed a wet purified acid (PWA) plant in Aurora, NC
1990: Rhone-Poulenc constructs a wet purified acid (PWA) plant in Geismar, LA
1991: A&W Company JV acquires Olin’s phosphate business
1994: Albright & Wilson forms A&W Troy JV in Mexico (former Fertimex business)
1998: Rhodia is formed from the Rhone-Poulenc Chemicals group and includes the former Stauffer Chemical Industrial Chemicals Division operations.
2000: Rhodia acquires Albright & Wilson
2004: Rhodia sells the former Stauffer Chemical Food Phosphate business to Danisco
2004: Rhodia sells N American Phosphate business to Bain Capital to form Innophos®.
2006: Innophos® Initial Public Offering (IPO), Stock (IPHS) publicly traded on NASDAQ.
