February 1, 2007 - Adisseo, a world’s leader in nutritional additives and solutions used in animal feed, has just acquired Rhodia's sulphur and regeneration products business unit. This initiative supports Adisseo’s strategy to develop its presence in the market for methionine, an essential amino acid for animal food, of which it is already a world's leading producer.  Rhodia's business unit reported annual sales of €47 million in 2005 and employs 70 people, primarily in Les Roches de Condrieu (France) where Adisseo produces the intermediates necessary for methionine manufacture.  As Gérard Deman, Chairman of the Adisseo group, declared: "This acquisition enables us to strengthen our industrial production capability and to develop our competitiveness in the world methionine market, which is showing continued growth. The acquisition also adds a new, profitable and value-creating activity to the Adisseo group".  PSR business unit is the leading supplier of sulphuric acid and hydrogen sulphide used in the methionine synthesis.  In addition, the Group sold Rhodia Organics’ Sulfuric Products activity to Adisseo, subsidiary of China National BlueStar Corporation. This business generated sales of €47 million in 2005 and has a total of 67 employees. It is based at Les Roches de Condrieu, in France .
