News April 1, 2026 - Paradeep Phosphates has successfully commissioned its 300 tonnes per day (TPD) sulphuric acid plant at the Mangalore manufacturing unit with effect from March 31, 2026. The company disclosed this development through a regulatory filing under Regulation 30 of SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015, marking the completion of a significant capacity expansion project. The Mangalore expansions are expected to contribute incremental EBITDA of approximately ₹350 crore in FY27.

The commissioning of the sulphuric acid plant will enhance the company's captive sulphuric acid production, ensuring a reliable supply of key raw material for fertilizer manufacturing. This development reduces import dependence and improves operational efficiency while enabling effective utilization of waste heat.

The project is expected to generate around 1,05,000 tonnes of high pressure steam from non-fossil fuel energy per annum from process waste heat. This will replace equivalent quantity of steam generation from fossil fuel, achieving a sustainable milestone in reducing carbon footprint by reducing 19,000 tonnes of CO2 emission annually.

November 7, 2025 - Paradeep Phosphates has announced a Rs 3,600 crore capacity expansion plan aimed at boosting production and achieving five million MT in sales over the next two-and-a-half years.  The company will add one million tonne of granulation capacity and increase its backward integration of phosphoric acid by 0.5 million tonne and sulphuric acid by 1.5 million tonne across its Paradeep and Mangalore units. The move aligns with the company's long-term strategy to become a fully integrated and self-reliant fertiliser manufacturer.  The company's Managing Director and CEO, Suresh Krishnan, stated that the successful merger with Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilisers (MCFL) has strengthened the firm's presence in the south, increased its market share, and unlocked synergies in scale and product mix.

October 13, 2025
- Paradeep Phosphates Limited (PPL) has announced October 13, 2025, as 'Effective Date 1' for its merger with Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited (MCFL). The merger process is structured in two parts, with 'Effective Date 2' scheduled three days after Effective Date 1. Both companies have filed the necessary documents with their respective Registrars of Companies. The actual amalgamation of MCFL with PPL will take effect from 'Appointed Date 2'. PPL has committed to making further disclosures upon the occurrence of 'Effective Date 2'.

October 23, 2023
- Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilizers Limited (MCFL) had to cease operations at it phosphatic plant in Mangaluru on Sunday due to a shortage of raw materials.  In a regulatory disclosure made on Sunday, MCFL announced that its phosphatic fertiliser plant was temporarily halted on October 22, 2023 due to a depletion on phosphoric acid raw material stock.  The company intends to provide an update once it resumes production at this facility.  MCFL, a subsidiary of Zuari Agro Chemicals Limited, which is part of the Adventz Group under the leadership of Chariman Saroj Kumar Poddar, stands as one of the prominent fertiliser companies in the country.
