May 5, 2010 - Germany-based Evonik is extending the shutdown of a
sulphuric acid plant in Worms, Germany, because of “unforeseen technical
problems”. April 28 2010 - During the scheduled plant revision unforeseen technical problems in the sulphuric acid plant occurred that will force Evonik Röhm GmbH to extend the shutdown by probably four weeks. As the sulphuric acid plant is an important part of Evonik´s Methacrylates Verbund this will clearly impact the availability of Evonik´s VISIOMER® methacrylate monomers like MMA, n-/i-BMA and specialty monomers as well as various PMMA downstream products. Within the next weeks these plants will run with substantially reduced rates. |
